My experience traveling
to an urban city
November, 18th 2021
14 years ago my family
decided to move from a part of the Ecuadorian Amazonian zone to a rural part of
Ecuador, now I have 15 years old, my family decided to travel to Quito, it was
the end of the 90s over the Ecuador there were a lot of dismissed presidents
like Abdala Bucaram and Jamil Mahuad. Due for the economic crisis the Amazonian
part of Ecuador gets economically affected. We traveled to Quito because my
family view some opportunities to get a job and have more incomes from it. In
the beginning it was difficult for my parents to get a job in the city and we
were living from some savings that my father had, but in the pass of some
months my parents found a job and they started to get money from that job.
A few years later I had
the optimal age to start to study, my parents decide that I have to enter into
a school. At the beginning it was very funny to learn with didactic games and
some literature activities, but in the pass of time the education changes a
lot.
Adaptation to the social and intellectual environment
Two days ago, my grandfather
came to Quito and stay a few days with my family, he is from Pastaza and he is
not familiarized with some of the technological advances that we have in Quito.
First of all, my grandfather talks with my parents about how they adapted here
in Quito. After that he started to talk with me about my studies and my social relationships.
I tell him that when I started to learn some topics of the school I was
confused because that are topics that my parents didn’t know and they can´t
help me with that.
It was difficult, but
then some people started to open some places in where they let people to rent a
computer to investigate over the internet. That computer allowed to me the
capacity to investigate about the topics that are difficult for me and also to realize
some investigation works.
After that he was impressed
about the technology of the city, and the he asked me about how I met my
friends. I tell him that in the school was very difficult to make a friend
because there are people with another other thought than me and it was very difficult
to talk with someone and form a type of friendship. Also I tell him that in my
school afortunately were some people that thoughts in some cases like me and
they did things that I was interested in like playing games and also talking
about various things.
After that my grandfather
wanted to walk and I to continue talking about other things.
My experience– conclusion
As I told in this blog my
experience here in education was good because I get some help with technology
of this place. I also know that this technology and the level of education that
is here is not found in the area where I used to live and that surely I have
not found the friends I have and communicate with them as I do through the
internet when we do not meet at home. In other words, in this case, traveling
to Quito not only benefited me in my social and student life also it helps my
parents who were economically affected.
